The Name Game: YSL to Become ‘Saint Laurent Paris’

Yves Saint Laurent has a new creative director. Soon, it will have a new name. According to StyleCaster, Hedi Slimane is changing the classic French label’s instantly-recognizable name to “Saint Laurent Paris”.

Is it just me or does SLP not have quite the same ring to it as YSL? Apparently, Slimane believes the name change will recapture ”the impulses that inspired the founder to launch the Saint Laurent Rive Gauche ready-to-wear line in 1966 – among them youth, freedom and modernity.”

Nevertheless, StyleCaster is also reporting that the actual YSL logo won’t be biting the dust any time soon. You can expect the re-branding to hit right before Paris Fashion Week in September.

Ladies, what do you think?

YSL to Release Eye Shadow Palette ‘Devoted to Fans’…On Facebook

"Like" this pretty palette? Well, unless you’re willing to join YSL’s fan base on Facebook, you’ll be missing out. British Beauty Blogger reports that despite the palette’s name, only 1,650 devoted fans will be able to get their hands on this supposed must-have.

Planning to Facebook stalk YSL when the product hits on July 19, 2012? I’m still on the fence about putting my obsession with all things social media on full display, but I might just be clicking right along with you.
