The Name Game: YSL to Become ‘Saint Laurent Paris’

Yves Saint Laurent has a new creative director. Soon, it will have a new name. According to StyleCaster, Hedi Slimane is changing the classic French label’s instantly-recognizable name to “Saint Laurent Paris”.

Is it just me or does SLP not have quite the same ring to it as YSL? Apparently, Slimane believes the name change will recapture ”the impulses that inspired the founder to launch the Saint Laurent Rive Gauche ready-to-wear line in 1966 – among them youth, freedom and modernity.”

Nevertheless, StyleCaster is also reporting that the actual YSL logo won’t be biting the dust any time soon. You can expect the re-branding to hit right before Paris Fashion Week in September.

Ladies, what do you think?

J’adore: Strawberry Shortcake Scores a Paris Fashion Week Makeover

Strawberry Shortcake was always a floppy hat-loving cutie in our book, but we wouldn’t exactly call her a style star…until now. Charlotte aux Fraises (as she’s called in France) has scored a coveted invite to Paris Fashion Week.

And not only is the little lady attending, but she’ll be spotted in designer duds to boot! reports that designers Sonia Rykiel, Cacharel, Alexis Mabille, and more have painstakingly crafted gorgeous, one-of-a-kind ensembles for Charlotte. Lucky Parisians can catch her new looks at l’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture from September 25-October 3, 2012.

After Paris Fashion Week has passed (we’re tearing up already) the dolls will be auctioned off to benefit Ce Ke du Conheur, a charity that aids hospitalized children.

All we have to say is “Barbie who?”.

Score Alice Englert’s Sunny Paris Fashion Week Look for Less

On March 6, Alice Englert graced the front row at Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2013 Ready-to-Wear show during Paris Fashion Week. Our favorite Caster girl worked her magic in a full-on Miu Miu getup as she chatted with A-list guests, including Renee ZellwegerJanuary Jones, and Zoe Saldana. Pretty good for an 18-year-old, huh?

But you don’t need a starring role in Beautiful Creatures or a plane ticket to Paris to look just as Fashion Week-worthy! Ridley can keep her siren powers, ‘cause these duds were made to charm:

Hook-eye closure blazer ($27.80,, Black crop pants ($39,,Apt. 9 essential floral drapeneck tee ($14.99,, Women’s Mossimo Vidal heeled ankle strap sandals with studs ($29.99,, Black piped clutch ($17,, CoverGirl Queen Collection jumbo gloss balm in Cosmo Confetti($6.99,
