Saturday Obsession: Emma Watson for Lancôme

It’s no secret that I’m completely obsessed with all things Emma Watson related. After all, why shouldn’t I be? This gal has acting chops and serious style skills to boot!

And now, Emma is serving as the face of Lancôme’s upcoming lipstick and polish releases. This February, prepare your purses for Lancôme’s Rouge in Love and Vernis in Love lines. The Rouge lipstick collection will consist of everything from nudes to bold hues complete with sparkles. Meanwhile, the Vernis polish collection will be sold in pairs and feature a rainbow of colors.

I’m already gearing up for a big post-holiday treat!

M.A.C. to Launch a Marilyn Monroe Makeup Line!

Here’s yet another dose of beauty news: according to a WWD report, M.A.C. is teaming up with Authentic Brands Group LLC for an approximately 30-piece beauty line inspired by Marilyn Monroe.

Priced from $15 to $27, the collection will include essentials like lipstick, eye shadow, nail polish, and so much more. The line is slated for M.A.C. stores this October.

A little late in our obsession with the icon of all icons? Yes, but that doesn’t mean we won’t raid the beauty giant’s aisles come October!

First Look: Beloved Macaron Maker Ladurée’s New Makeup Line

We’re typing under the influence of a sugar rush: pictured above are images from the sweetest treat for your face…um, ever! Sadly, though the line has made its sugary debut in Asia, we won’t be scooping up Ladurée’s products in the US until later this year. Be warned: we won’t be playing nice once these irresistible blushes and lip colors hit the states!

The Latest in Designer Nails: Thakoon for Nars

Leave it to Thakoon Panichgul to whip up a glorious spring collection for Nars Cosmetics. The six-piece Thakoon for Nars collab features vibrant, notice-me hues taken straight from the spring runways. 

“The prints in that collection were inspired by the rich color palette of India — the spices, the holy festivals,” Panichgul said, according to a piece on the New York Times.

The Times reports that you can pick up a bottle for $18 on May 1, 2012. Excited doesn’t even begin to cover it!

Pretty Little Lacquers: MAC to Launch Permanent Polish Collection

As a MAC fan, I consistently felt disappointed by the lack of permanent colors (currently numbering around eight) in the brand’s collection. But soon, all of my worries will melt away under the summer sun.

Oh, and news of MAC’s whopping new 30-color line that’ll finally stay put! Did you really expect us to keep a secret this big? 

You can find the vibrant new hues at Nordstrom and MAC locations on July 5, 2012 for $16 each. This season’s going to get colorful very soon!

It’s Happening: ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Sequel

As a former fashion intern, I wholeheartedly backed Andy as she went up against Runway’s EIC, Miranda Priestly. And I never imagined I’d be saying this now, but TDWP is coming back…with a vengeance!

After 10 years, author Lauren Weisberger is bringing back the sole with Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns. Set eight years after Andy’s nightmarish job as Miranda’s assistant, EW reports that the once aspiring journalist is now a force to be reckoned with as editor of bridal mag The Plunge. Oh, and she’s also planning to wed her hunky media maven boyfriend, Max. 

But don’t worry —there’s some juice to this tale (read: Miranda lurking in a corner looking deadly but fabulous). 

The book is slated for an April 2013 release by Simon & Schuster. I can’t wait to tote this tome around next spring!

Doin’ It for the Fame: Gaga to Release a Fragrance

Little Monsters, life will get a whole lot sweeter come September. Finally, finally Lady Gaga announced on Twitter that her new fragrance, “Fame”, will hit the market just in time for the start of classes (so expect eau de Gaga to be wafting through the halls come fall). 

As expected, it’s bold, dark, and fabulous! Mother Monster reports that the fragrance will smell like “tears of Belladonna, crushed heart of Tiger Orchidea with a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot, and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops.”

Saturday Obsession: Here’s the Official Hairstyle of the 2012 Olympics

If you’re looking for the perfect ‘do to kickoff your Summer Olympics celebrations, check out the official hairstyle from Max Factor. According to Racked.com, the female presenters and athlete escorts will all rock these locks during the games. 

“I wanted it to encompass everything the Games are about…it’s natural and fresh and will give each of the wearers a lovely healthy glow,” Max Factor’s Caroline Barnes said.

Saturday Obsession: Chanel x FNO

Oh Chanel, how I wish I could afford your many pricey beauty offerings! But since Fashion’s Night Out on September 6 is cause for celebration (read: splurging), I think I can scrounge up enough cash for these luxe duos.

With Délicatesse, Provocation, and Infidèle by my side, green will be the last thing on my mind. 

As of right now, details like pricing and availability are unconfirmed, though Fashionista.com reports that previous sets were sold at Chanel boutiques and online at Chanel.com.
